Dear Juno, or anyone else in a teen pregnancy predicament,
My name is Daniel Orosco, and I am currently attending Foothill Technology High School. I would like to start off saying that you made the perfect choice. Giving your child to a mother who can financially and emotionally care for your child was an extremely responsible thing to do. I can't say I can relate to you but I am pretty close to someone who can. One of my family members went through a similar situation but took a different route from yours. She was sixteen at the time and decided to keep her baby, which wasn't the smartest decision. She's too young to have a baby and isn't even financially stable enough to keep care of herself. She lives off other family members and doesn't attempt to get a job or education. In my opinion she should have done exactly what you did. I am in full support of handing over your child to another family so he/she can have a better future. If someone can't care for a child then they shouldn't have one. I believe that if you're willing to have sex and risk the chance of creating life, then you should allow that life to live. You should undoubtedly wear some sort of protection while having sex, and under no circumstances rely on your "pull-out game", guys. But simply investing all out your hope into a rubber shouldn't be your only plan. If I were in your situation, or Bleeker's situation, I would wan't the baby to go to a better home. It would be a very hard thing to do but it would lead towards a better life for the child. I believe you made the best decision possible for someone in your situation and hope more people in your situation do the same thing.
